Remembering FUZZY 1998~2014

There have been occasional comments that in the Scruffy and early "taming a feral cat" videos it seems as if Fuzzy is afraid, or perhaps we neglected him.
In fact, he knew he was loved every day of his life with us. The two had gotten to know each other in 2007 as outside in the compound Scruffy was living in that old car and then the little house I made for him as he was still so wild.. When Scruffy moved inside in the early winter of 2008, Fuzzy and Scruffy got along great, and could often be seen sleeping next to each other here in the warehouse.

It is true that Scruffy's first year of his life was spent as a true feral and he was living in a junk car on our property. As Scruffy had known true hunger, he was (and still is) an aggressive eater. For this reason, we eventually kept the two of them separated in two different areas of the warehouse at night. This way, Fuzzy had a constant food supply after hours. During the day, they were together.

Fuzzy did have a tremendous terror of the veterinarian and was "red-flagged" as he would get highly stressed and would appear calm but without warning, he could lash-out in a furry of anger.

I loved this little guy, but he lived life on his own terms, and I was crushed when that day came. He was ill and I took him to one of the best places there is - the Purdue University Animal Hospital - and there was nothing they could do. It wasn't about money, sadly, his time was up, and he crossed the bridge on March the 30th 2014.
