r/Wallstreetbets | The Shady Truth (2020)

Wall Street Bets (aka r/Wallstreetbets) has recently experienced some major drama with the original founder Jartek and his plans for a WSB Championship. In this video, we go through how the subreddit exploded in popularity through the postings of the now infamous user WSBGod. From this growth, Wall Street Bets was flooded with new people interested in stock options trading. Some bad characters of the community saw this opportunity and tried to take full control of the subreddit in order to monetize it. This didn't go over well with several of the moderators and ultimately led to one of the greatest betrayals the community has ever seen. This story of Jartek and WSBGod, along with many others are just a small example of the insanity that occurs on the forum.
