Wall Street Bets (aka r/Wallstreetbets) has been called many things before. It's best known by the tagline like 4chan found a Bloomberg terminal. In this video, we go through the subreddit's history and look at recent events involving Robinhood that helped the community rise to fame. The insanity of Wall Street Bets was put on full display when in the fall of 2019, the subreddit found a glitch on the stock trading app Robinhood involving users u/1R0NYMAN and u/ControlTheNarrative. Through leveraged margin trading, both users were able to exploit the RobinHood and leverage up to 25 times their initial deposit. This story and fscomeau, along with many others are just a tip of the iceberg to what goes on, on a daily basis on this forum.
