A.B. Perry Building: Named after Commissioner A.B. Perry
Next up on the Depot Virtual Tour is the A.B. Perry Building and the Depot flag pole. Named after the RCMP’s longest-serving commissioner, Aylesworth Bowen Perry, this building was home to the RCMP headquarters before they were relocated to Ottawa in 1920.
Across from the A. B. Perry Building is where you will find our flag pole. Built in 1980, it resembles the mast of a ship to serve as a reminder that the RCMP is present on water like we are on land.
