But, which brooder is better? ⛺️🐥

Large Tent Brooder
✅ Lots of space— good for more than 4 chicks
✅ Side access for friendly encounters
✅ Quality construction
💛 Easy to clean but takes a while to dry
❌ No visibility

It was really hard keeping the chicks in a brooder without being able to see them (or them see us!)

Since I only have 4 chicks, I broke out my trusty Living World rabbit cage. I’ve been using this as my brooder for many years. Here are the things I love about it:

Living World Cage
✅ Easy to clean and dries fast with a towel
✅ High-visibility
✅ I can hang the feeder & waterer and adjust the heights according to their growth
✅ The bottom detaches and the top can be used for safe play outside
💛 Small. Would recommend for 4 chicks or less

Overall, I think the answer depends on how many chicks you have! If I had more than 4 chicks, I would stick with the tent style brooder. Since I have a small flock of chicks, I prefer the Living World cage so I can see and interact with them easily.

Both are great options and I’m happy to have both of them at my house. Shortly after switching the chicks to the Living World cage, my older hen Heart got sick. I was lucky to have this tent for an emergency hospital cage while my brooder was already in-use!
