In the past year, Mexican singer/songwriter Peso Pluma has gone from an unknown to the second most-streamed Latin artist on Spotify, trailing only Bad Bunny. His trap-infused take on the age-old folk song form of corrido has put regional Mexican music in the global spotlight, and on Génesis, he channels his rebellious swagger into a feisty collection of songs pushing corridos into the mainstream and the future. This edition included an unpublished song called "Tulum" recorded with Grupo Frontera and two songs that had already been singles in previous months: "PRC" with Natanael Cano and "Las Morras" with Blessd. El año pasado, el cantante y compositor mexicano Peso Pluma pasó de ser un artista desconocido al segundo artista latino con más reproducciones en Spotify, solo detrás de Bad Bunny. Su versión infundida de trap de la antigua canción popular del corrido ha puesto a la música regional mexicana en el centro de atención mundial, y en Génesis, canaliza su arrogancia rebelde en una colección luchadora de canciones que impulsan los corridos hacia la corriente principal y hacia el futuro.
