Born in central Cuban city of Camaguey, Manuel Simonet learnt piano and trés with the amateur artists movement. In 1986 he was selected for the Maravillas de Florida orchestra and at the age of 18 he became their musical director, main composer and arranger, taking them to great popularity in Cuba. Moving to Havana in 1993 he finally created Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco. “Trabuco” is a colonial pistol and in Cuba a term used as synonym for strength. Manolito’s Trabuco lives up to its name being a very powerful, explosive group. Manolito y Su Trabuco celebrated their 25th anniversay and they released their 11th studio album -"La Vida Cambió". Nacido en la ciudad de Camagüey, en el centro de Cuba, Manuel Simonet aprendió piano y trés con el movimiento de artistas aficionados. En 1986 fue seleccionado para la orquesta Maravillas de Florida y a los 18 años se convirtió en su director musical, compositor principal y arreglista, llevándolos a gran popularidad en Cuba. Trasladarse a La Habana en 1993 creó finalmente Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco. “Trabuco” es una pistola colonial y en Cuba un término utilizado como sinónimo de fuerza. El Trabuco de Manolito hace honor a su nombre siendo un grupo muy potente y explosivo. Manolito y Su Trabuco celebraron su 25 aniversario y lanzaron su undécimo álbum de estudio: "La Vida Cambió".
