Birds of Costa Rica: Wilson Botanical Gardens in San Vito

Las Cruces Biological Station and Wilson Botanical Gardens are located near San Vito, Costa Rica, close to the border with Panama. The altitude is about 1000 meter. About 400 species of birds have been seen in the gardens. Many species of birds in this area are endemic to southern Costa Rica and western Panama. The feeders near the restaurant attract many birds. This video shows 19 species of birds that I filmed in the gardens in 2019. In order of appearance: Fiery-billed Araçari, Collared Trogon, Crimson-fronted Parakeet, Brown-hooded Parrot, Golden-olive Woodpecker, Red-crowned Woodpecker, Golden-hooded Tanager, Silver-throated Tanager, Speckled Tanager, Blue-grey Tanager, Scarlet-rumped Tanager, Palm Tanager, Green Honeycreeper, Spot-crowned Euphonia, Thick-billed Euphonia, Streaked Saltator, Crested Guan, Crested Caracara and Olivaceous Piculet
