Fox-tail orchid placed on 120-year-old tree in Assam's Bokakhat in memory of Zubeen Garg

A heartfelt tribute to Assam’s beloved cultural icon, Zubeen Garg, was made at the Circuit House in Bokakhat, where a kopou flower, a symbol of Assamese love and tradition, was placed on a 120-year-old tree.

This poignant gesture was carried out by Anupam Saikia, a childhood friend of Zubeen and a Bollywood technical artist, organized by former cultural journalist Sameer Roy. Saikia fondly recalled Zubeen’s enduring influence and celebrated his tireless contributions to Assamese music and culture.

The kopou, representing purity and affection, echoes Zubeen’s lasting impact on art, music, and humanity.
