Sikkim CM pays tribute to Former CM Nar Bahadur Bhandari on 85th birth anniversary

Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang led a commemorative event at Samman Bhawan to pay tribute to former Chief Minister Nar Bahadur Bhandari on his 85th birth anniversary.

Bhandari, who served from 1979 to 1994, is remembered for his key role in including the Nepali language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution and for founding the Sikkim Sangram Parishad. Dignitaries, including the Deputy Mayor, Ministers, MPs, and MLAs, honoured his contributions to modern Sikkim by laying floral tributes.

CM Tamang praised Bhandari’s vision for shaping the state’s progress, strengthening its cultural identity, and uniting the Gorkha community, noting his recognition with the Jagadamba Shree Purasakar.
