120 former Seaflower Pelagic Processing (now Princess Brand Processing) employees petitioned
A group of 120 former Seaflower Pelagic Processing (now Princess Brand Processing) employees petitioned against unfair labour practices by Trilliant Investments at Walvis Bay on Friday. The company received quotas this year to reinstate the workers permanently. The group is demanding a basic salary of N$6 500, cold allowance of N$600, transport allowance of N$1 000, N$10 per hour night shift allowance, full personal protective equipment, 50/50 medical aid, an hourly rate of N$25,85 and a housing allowance of N$1 000. The petition was handed to the company’s human resource manager Wilhelmina Shitomuntu, who promised that management will respond soon. The group has given the company five working days to respond to their demands. Video: Taati Niilenge
