UPDATE 28.02.2020

After Banggood accepted my video unboxing/"review" , the item reviewed here sold out and now they take pre-orders for it, but they increased the price significantly. At the same time, another mini PC was consistently discounted and now it makes much more sense for the same money to buy the more powerful 6 core CPU, with a second NVMe slot, a standard SATA connector, and a much quieter fan noise as well. I have already ordered mine and I assume the number of uses for the promo code is limited.

Since I am doing you a favor by sharing this tip for free, please use my purchase link to go to the banggood website. If you order using this link, I will get a small percentage with no additional cost to your purchase. Click on this link first, which will take you to banggood and tell the website you came from my recommendation https://goodsbuy.by/redirect/cpa/u/tegl27z20kgcz83hwt6kt7ahw08m694r/4/?material=cashback&to=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.banggood.com%2F

Now search the website for item number 1512614 . This will show you the search result we are after: Hystou S200 i7-8750H barebone Mini PC. It is listed at 449.99 USD, but with this promo code BGFBS20 you can take it down to 279.99, which is lower than the model reviewed in this video is currently priced at. Add it to your basket, click checkout and apply the coupon. After the payment process, wait for the Thank you page to finish loading completely.

This is a great mini PC for the price of 260 USD that I paid for it (after applying a coupon). It is not perfect, but it is value for money nevertheless. The size surprised me, I knew it was small, but I did not fully understand how small it was until I was holding it in my hand. Impressive to say the least. The build quality is also excellent, solid metal case except for the plastic sides for the wifi antennas. Screws for the HDD, the case lid and the SSD are included in the box. Also the rubber feet are included and they need to be installed or the fan can't suck in air from underneath when sitting flat on the table. The VESA mount is not included, although the case has the necessary holes for it.

The power limit out of the box is set to 25W which allows the CPU to sustain continuously only about 2.4 Ghz on all 4 cores. But this can be changed using Intel's XTU (installed with a workaround to skip the platform check error, google it). The included charger is rather weak 19V 2.1A (40W) and allows the CPU to sustain a maximum of about 3 Ghz on all 4 cores after changing the power settings. The charger can be easily replaced with any standard laptop charger of greater power. The most I was able to get out of this configuration, using a separate 3.4A charger (65W), was 3.3-3.5 Ghz sustained on all 4 cores, which is quite smaller than the burst 4.6 Ghz that this CPU is rated for. It would probably go higher with the supplied cooler before thermal throttling, but it won't because of a BIOS current limit, that cannot be overridden with the XTU software.

As CONS I would consider first the fan noise, which is rather loud and annoying, much more so than a standard laptop fan. It gets to over 62 dB at full load and cannot be ignored. This is not a mini PC you can leave running with heavy tasks in your bedroom at night. In idle the fan doesn't spin at all sometimes. Another con would be the LAN port lights and the front on/off LED, which are way too bright and can light up the room at night. Also the SATA3 connector is a proprietary 9 pin instead of the usual data and power cables we are all used to. My connector was crooked on arrival (while other buyers reported this connector missing from the box), but I was able to force it onto the pins and get a HDD connected. However, I quickly gave up the idea of having a HDD inside the mini PC case, because there was no padding on the case lid (as shown in the pictures) and the vibrations from the spinning discs were amplified and annoying. A 2.5" SSD would be a better choice as secondary storage. The USB-C port does not support video-out.

I installed in this barebone system 32 Gb (2x16) of RAM rated at 2666 Mhz. But as the Intel specifications for this processor said, the RAM only works at 2400 Mhz, so don't bother buying anything faster than 2400 for this unit. For storage I installed a Kingston KC2000 - 1000 gb and the speed tests showed the expected results.
