In the real world, objects don't change their shape or behavior as they move from place to place. You turn on a hairdryer the same way in the bathroom as you do in the kitchen. But in the digital world, because so many designers work screen-by-screen, object often change their appearance, or worse, their interaction patterns as they move through their environment.
