Similar to repeat patterns, kaleidoscope-like designs and symmetrical motifs have a certain soothing quality. I think it’s the visual rhythm of the piece and the ability to batch make colour choice decisions!

When you colour this page, I encourage you to consider treating it like a repeat pattern and batch colour similar items. So colour all the butterfly wings, then all large blooms, then all the leaves. By doing this you don’t have the worry of forgetting which pencil you used for what and the actual colouring process develops a flow as you move from item to item.
