Rescue Horse with Overgrown Hooves has First Farrier Visit

Update on Joey and Kizmet! They have been at Days End just over a week and had their first visit with our farrier, we are excited to share that they are both showing small signs of improvement! Their first trim visit was a collaborative effort with both our veterinarian and farrier to determine the best treatment and correct years of neglect. Both ponies are still receiving pain medication to provide comfort, but they are more alert and showing an interest in their surroundings. Joey enjoys daily walks and even had a bath today, while Kizmet enjoys time getting pampered by staff. They both have a very long and expensive recovery ahead of them, and we can’ thank you enough for your support. We couldn’t give so many equines like Kizmet and Joey a second chance without you!
