Up Clear Creek on the Narrow Gauge - Harry Brunk's World Famous Model Railroad

Harry Brunk has been obsessed with the Colorado Southern up Clear Creek Canyon for decades. His world famous layout has now been moved to the Union Pacific Museum in Cheyenne.

Harry also wrote articles about his research (screwing around) in Clear Creek Canyon. Hundreds of articles later Up Clear Creek on the Narrow Gauge is a fixture in the Narrow Gauge and Short Line Gazette.

Harry's goal was to recreate every foot of the line, accurate to every structure and track feature, which is impossible, so he opted to call his line Union Central and Northern so as not to imply it was an "accurate" model of the Colorado Southern in Clear Creek canyon.

The layout way built in a Detroiter single wide mobile home in Nebraska. Over time the trailer fell appart under his feet, and he needed to find a new home. Union Pacific offered space in the attic of the Union Pacific Museum and the process of dismantling began. The layout now sits a few hundred beet from the Cheyenne locomotive shops, home to Union Pacific 844 3985 and the soon to be operating Big Boy, 4014.
