Installing New Mast and Sta-lok Rigging - Pearson Triton Osprey Refit Part 20
Converting a fractional sloop rig 28' Pearson Triton to a masthead staysail sloop, AKA slutter or double headsail sloop. Here the mast is installed and sta-lok standing rigging installed. Parts List:
1. One headstay 7/32" wire, swaged 3/8" pin marine eye upper end, open at bottom, 37'0" overall length.
2. One backstay 7/32" wire, swaged 3/8" pin marine eye upper end, open at bottom, 40'0" overall length.
3. Two upper shrouds 7/32" wire, swaged stemball upper end, open at bottom, 36'0" overall length.
(Our mast fittings did not need stem ball cup washers but if they did, the Hayn part numbers are: Stemball SB732 Cupwasher SBC732).
4. Four lower shrouds 7/32" wire, swaged stemball upper end, open at bottom, 19'0" overall length.
5. One staysail stay 7/32" wire, swaged toggle fork with 3/8" pin upper end, open at bottom, 28'0" overall length.
6. Two intermediate aft shrouds 7/32 wire, swaged toggle fork with 3/8" pins upper ends, open at bottom, 27'0" overall length.
7. Eight sta-lok studs for 7/32" wire to fit 7/16" turnbuckles.
8. Three sta-lok marine eyes for 7/32" wire and 7/16" pins.
9. Eight open body 7/16" chromed bronze turnbuckles with lower toggles only.
10. Three open body 7/16" chromed bronze turnbuckles with toggles on both ends.
11. Eleven pieces black velcro turnbuckles pins (AKA wrap pins) to fit 7/16 turnbuckles (6 packs of 2).
12. 24' x 1/4" ID plastic sleeves to slide over the intermediate aft shrouds for sail chafe protection.
13. One spare wire 1x19 7/32" x 40' with no end fittings.
14. Two pieces Sta-Lok Wedge for Standard 1x19, 7/32"Each 138-55-1.
15. Three pieces Stainless Steel Fixed Bail Snap Shackle 3-1/2" for staysail stay and intermediate aft shrouds
Roller furler:
1. One Harken MKIV Unit 0 Furling System w/o Toggle Assembly 7410.10.
2. One Harken MKIV Unit 0 Eye/Jaw Reversible Toggle Assy, 7/16" clevis pin 7410.20 7/16.
3. One set link tang (link extender) with 7/16" pins.
4. One Garhauer furling lead block.
5. Three Garhauer stanchion blocks.
Code 0:
1. One sprit pole bobstay - 1/4" 1x19 wire with an over-center lifeline pelican hook on each end. Make 36 3/4" long
with pelican hooks in mid-range adjustment.
2. One Profurl NEX 0.9 Flying Sail Furler.
3. One Harken Reflex Stanchion-Mount Double Cam Fairlead.
4. Three Harken Reflex Stanchion-Mount Fairlead.
Lifelines:
One set of two upper lifelines of 1/19 wire x 1/4". Open body toggle jaw turnbuckles (in mid-range adjustment) forward, swivel gate eyes at aft stanchions with gates between aft stanchions and pushpit rail ending with an over-center pelican hook in mid-range adjustment.
