this video contains some spoilers from the anime film called "ride your wave". i made sure to omit any major scenes that could potentially spoil the entire plot but just be wary that this could spoil some (mainly cute) scenes for you if you decide to watch it. : )) personally, i think you'd still be able to enjoy the film even if you watch this video first, or enjoy this edit even tho you haven't watched the film yet. however, it is an amazing movie and i highly recommend you watch it first - it could help you appreciate this edit a bit more, or at least, view it in a different light : )

also, please note that all visual clips and dialogues were taken from the film itself. however, all other changes to them and any added sound effects were edited in using adobe audition + sound effects i've recorded myself and/or royalty-free audio found online. although the dialogues are 100% real and accurate, i've only used them and the video clips to create a specific narrative to fit this concept. thus, the concept of this video may or may not be in line with that of the real movie plot.

i think the past edits i've done for bts’ japanese songs like "your eyes tell" (https://youtu.be/YzZEtuUpY8g​) and "let go" (https://youtu.be/97eQgaeW02A​) all have a similar concept of "moving on". in this one, i wanted to focus on the in-between feelings of moving on - especially in moments involving heavier topics like loss and grief when people are not usually making the decision to move on (like in a mutual breakup) but simply told or expected that they must.

hopefully, this edit can express that but in case you need further context or some more encouraging words to hear during this time where collective loss feels like normalcy, you may keep reading.

we meet some pretty special people in our life - whether it’s soulmate(s) given to us when we’re born or soulmate(s) we find later on in life. and sometimes, for whatever reason much larger than us, they are only given a certain time to spend with us in this lifetime. it’ll feel impossible to keep going on, to say the least. the sun and moon will keep taking turns, the earth will continue spinning, the people around you will keep running and you'll be expected to keep up with them.

but just know that it’s okay to go at your own pace. you have the next day, and the next day, and the next day after that.

one day, things will eventually start to feel lighter again. other days, you might come across a photo of them or pass by their favourite snack at the grocery store, and you’ll remember them. it’s okay to cry and re-feel everything you've already felt in the days leading up. it's okay to look back at old memories and feel sad, angry, hopeless. trust that this is all part of the process and that you are still moving forward just as planned.

healing isn't linear; it takes time and sometimes a little help from others too. you're doing your best, and one day, you'll be able to think of that person and imagine only how proud they must be of you for continuing to live a great life for them.
