Harley Benton DC-60 Junior in Pelham Blue | How much P90 fun can you have for €199? Review & Demo

This is the Harley Benton DC-60 Junior in Pelham Blue!

When this guitar was announced in July 2021, I knew I had to give it a try. It’s a single pickup guitar (which I love), the pickup in question is a P90 (again, awesome), it’s Pelham Blue (score!), and it’s less than €200! What’s not to like? In theory – and on paper – this guitar looks like a pure and simple rock and roll machine.

Oh, and it comes in Faded Cherry too: https://bit.ly/DC60CherryRWM

The DC-60 Junior’s specs are proper decent for the money: mahogany body and neck, amaranth fingerboard, graphite nut, Roswell P90 pickup, WSC wraparound bridge, Wilkinson tuners, and a neck size, shape and profile that’ll feel right at home to anyone who’s ever played a Gibson SG, or an SG Junior of course.

But how good can it really be for €199? Well, that’s what we find out in this video. I put the DC-60 Junior through its paces in a variety of musical styles and genres, from country and pop to indie, rock, punk, and even a bit of metal. It’s all played into my Hughes & Kettner Black Spirit 200 head, using the Greer Lightspeed and Revv G3 pedals for the drive sounds.

I ran the DC-60 Junior into my Hughes & Kettner Black Spirit 200 head, also using my Greer Lightspeed and Revv G3 pedals for the overdrive and distortion sounds. The amp went from the Red Box DI straight into my Focusrite Scarlett 2i4, which went into Logic Pro X. That's it. No post-processing on the sounds was done.
