3D OpenTTD - Animation 2 (Part 2 of 5)
Part two of five planned animations that will show the landscape, vehicles and possibilities of a fictional 3D OpenTTD. In this part, the Arctic terrain Turner Turbo trains have replaced a lot of the older engines until new forms of rail transportation are invented.
After rendering for a total of almost 105 hours - and this number doesn't count the errorneous renders where I found mistakes later on - the second part of the second animation almost starts where the last one ended, but on the other side of the "transitional tunnel".
I think I spent some additional months on completing the models for this video, and some like the bridges were COMPLETELY rebuilt to fit into the building style of TTD - compare them to my very first 3D OpenTTD video and you'll know the difference - which means no more bridges that are a specific length!
So, these bridges ARE made of segments that fit together quite nicely, don't you think? :)
I know that there is A LOT going on in this part of the animation in comparison to the last one but that's how it works in the game - you build more and more stuff! I also increased the complexity and quality of the signals and track layouts to show a more organised planning style.
The ambience of the whole video is a somewhat nice afternoon/evening with some clouds, that's why the original colour of the tiles seems different. I hope you notice the shadowy darkness when the camera gets to the town: Yes, that's a "real" cloud :D
There's quite a lot more to tell about but for now you should try to find it on your own - I hope you like it! And if you are still curious about all of this you should check out this thread:
