A Drink from Paradise, the Painkiller | How to Drink

If you like Piña Coladas... you'll LOVE a Painkiller. Most of America partied a bit too hard last night and is in pain, so drink these.

The Painkiller is a drink with a clearly defined history. It was invented in the 70's at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost van Dyke, a so-called Sailor's Paradise in the British Virgin Islands. The bar supposedly got it's name because it's not accessible from the land, only by sea, so folks would wade in for a drink and pay with their soggy cash.

The drink is sort of like a more sophisticated version of a Piña Colada, there's no blender involved, but that's not saying TOO much. It's still a very sweet boozey treat that is hard to miss with. Everyone loves these things.

The Soggy Dollar is a bar I hope to visit some day, and hopefully sooner rather than later. As I mention in the video I'm an aspirant sailor, Just gotta buy that boat...

Painkiller
1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Orange Juice
1 oz. -or- 30 ml. Cream of Coconut
4 oz. -or- 240 ml. Pineapple juice
2 oz. -or- 60 ml. Rum
Shake over ice and open pour into double rocks
garnish with fresh nutmeg
