Hello everybody, we are fund raising for the bravest superheroes we know: the children of Vrygrond who have survived 750 days of Lockdown and are hungry for healing through art.



For 11 years the Butterfly Art Project has offered healing art classes for children growing up in poverty. Every week over 250 children participate in art therapeutic classes at our Art Centre in Vrygrond.



At this time of year, many people celebrate a sense of renewal through the Easter and Ramadan ceremonies and practices. At the Butterfly Art Project we offer children the opportunity to heal and renew each week through the creativity of art. It is magical to see their whole being focus and steady as they mould clay, paint, draw and create with their hands, minds and hearts. At the end of the class they tuck into a nutritious snack and go home to face tomorrow with so much more than just a filled belly.



How can these children face all that each day brings if they never have a chance to stop, heal and renew?

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED



We will use the funds to provide art therapeutic classes for over 250 children and youth of Vrygrond every week. The art classes are one and a half hours long. Only 15 children attend each class ensuring individual attention. Each class is prepared and presented by a trained CAF using the BAP method and quality materials. Children receive a nutritious snack when they attend a class.



You can provide weekly art therapeutic classes for 1 child for a whole year with R1,280 (€80/£67).

With R40 (€2.50/£2.10) you will provide 1 child with a one and a half hour art class per week.

With R80 (€5/£4.20) you will provide 2 children with a one and a half hour art class per week.

With R200 (€12.50/£10.40) you will provide 5 children with a one and a half hour art class per week.

With R600 (€37.50/£31.25) you will provide 1 art class for 15 children per week.

With R1000 (€62.25/£52) you will provide 25 children with a one and a half hour art class.
