Building a Strong Travel Photography Business | My Monthly Income

It's that time again, let's talk about my travel photography business.
Every month I do a round up on my travel photography business and its successes and failures. I think it's really important to show new travel photographers, or people looking to maybe become a travel photographer, what the financial reality of things is. What is a good salary for a travel photographer? And while I can't really tell you the upper end of the scale, and think that the sky is the limit, I can show you what I earn as a travel photographer. I can show you my monthly income. So, on these round ups that's what I do. I started this channel as a way to try to give you some insight into what life is like as a travel photographer, and of course, money and income is a part of that.
Before I jumped into my income, however, in this vlog, I wanted to share what I got up to with my TopDeck tour here in Norway. I'm on a travel photography assignment with them right now, and having a blast. The day took us farther north here in Norway. Eventually, we'll get to the northernmost point in mainland Europe.
Now, into the photography business stuff.
This month I made decent money. And, like most of my months none of my income came from editorial. I basically only do editorial these days if I'm approached for something specific.
I did make $1000 from commercial photography projects. I also made a little bit of money from stock photography, and my vlog and blog. There was no money this month in social sales. But, there was a very significant $4000 made on various assignments, which was so nice. I also had a little bit of income from affiliate marketing.
To expand on the good news, my monthly expenses were quite low too. In total, I only spent a little over $1900 this month on both business and personal things.
So, at the end of the day, my monthly income from travel photography was almost $4500. I'm pretty happy with that. And, the best news is that in a couple months, there's a chance I could be debt free!
Tomorrow, the travel vlogs start again as I push north here in Norway more, and the audio from the mic comes back; thankfully.
