Joe Rogan claims the best fighters should ONLY be in the UFC. Agree or disagree? 🤔 #joerogan #ufc
In this clip from the JRE MMA Show #170, Joe Rogan sits down with professional mixed martial artist Michael "Venom" Page and discusses the different calibers of athletes across MMA promotions. Rogan expresses his desire to see how good certain fighters really are, suggesting that their full potential isn't always recognized in organizations outside of the UFC.
Rogan specifically brings up Bellator, stating that it was historically hard for top-tier fighters to "break out" from that promotion and receive the recognition they deserved. He recalls some "wild fights" in Bellator's history that went unnoticed, highlighting the legendary bout between Eddie Alvarez and Michael Chandler as a "beast" and "crazy" fight. He laments that fighters like them often left a significant part of their prime and "who they are" in that organization before moving on.
This leads to Rogan's main point: his belief that a certain elite caliber of athlete should only be competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He feels that the highest level of competition is necessary to truly test these fighters. In a powerful moment, Rogan turns to his guest, Michael "Venom" Page, and tells him directly that he is one of those very guys—an athlete of the caliber that belongs in the UFC. Page graciously thanks him for the high praise.
