ViFly X150 review - tuning, PIDs and final thoughts

In this final part of my review of the ViFly X150, I’ll describe my final thoughts on this awesome sub 250g, bind and fly mini quad. It’s seriously good given it’s only a 150mm frame that ViFly have managed to squeeze 1406 3300kV motors and 4” Dal T4045 props onto.

It’s had some hard crashes over the last few weeks and apart from the VTX antenna, nothing has broken. I replaced the original antenna with a more robust TBS stubby. Check the nuts and bolts holding the arms are tight. On impact the arm tend to unlock from each other and the props will hit each other. The design really needs an additional bolt on each arm or some sort of blocks to lock the arms in more securely. Having said all that, it’s a pretty robust and clever deign that keeps the weight down.

It’s small enough to fit in your pocket. It’s super cheap and comes with everything you need to just fly. It’s insanely fast - about 80 miles an hour. It’s a clever design and a tidy build. It flies great and the batteries are cheap. And all under 250 grams. Outstanding. I predict we’ll be seeing a lot more quads like this.
