DIY Thrift Upsize - refashion your clothes!
This is a fun plus size thrift project if you are just getting started with DIY upsize.
Let's talk about ease - it's mostly for woven garments because clothes need to fit around your body. After you take your measurements add 2-3" for the best fit.
Here's my math:
Dress bust: 41"
My bust: 50"
50+3=53"
Now let's see how much I need to add to the dress:
53-41=12"
Ruffles are usually 2 times the size what they are getting sewn to, for the example in the video my panel is 12" long, and you would add any length you want. To make a standard ruffle I would cut 24" BUT I felt the ruffle on the skirt was not as full as 2x, so I made it only 1.5x the size. So my original 12" became 18".
