Washing My DIY Microlocs | My Revised Take on Braiding and Banding (Clean Locs Always!)

Watch this video to learn how I wash my DIY microlocs! I explain my revised method of braiding and banding during the washing process which ensures that the whole length of my hair is clean and prevents build up, while I still get the benefits of braiding and banding.

When I had loose natural hair, I would wash my hair in twists to minimize the chance of my hair getting tangled up again. That would however create a buildup of conditioner product on the length hair even though my scalp was clean. Now with my DIY microlocks, since tangles are no longer an issue, I wash my hair in un-braided sections, then once clean, I braid and band it right back up into smaller sections. This ensures the whole length of my hair is clean and also provides the benefits of braiding and banding; namely: it prevents bunching and encourages symmetry in the locs. I also show you the simple products that I use, how I dry my locs, and how I separate my locs after washing.
