The One-Handed Backhand Grip In Tennis Explained

In today's video article I will not teach you how to hold the racket correctly but I wanted to show you an interesting observation of the one-handed backhand grip.

Did you know that even though the stroke is called a "backhand", the back of the hand does NOT face the ball at contact?

Maybe we should change the name of the stroke then. ;)

As you'll see in the video, switching from forehand to backhand in table tennis makes sense but in the game of tennis not so much.

The video runs for around 8 minutes and I hope it will give you some food for thought when it comes to the one-handed backhand grip.
