CJ5 Jeep Replacing the Megasquirt with Factory EFI

I stumble through this project with all the grace of a hippo in ballet slippers. When I first got this 1974 Jeep CJ5 the fuel injected 4.0 and AW4 were already installed. But, they barely ran. The injection system was a poorly cobbled hybrid of the early Renix and later Chrysler injection systems. I chose to go with the MegaSquirt open source injection control. It worked pretty well. But, I got tired of some of the little problems, inconsistent idle, poor fuel economy and a wide band O2 sensor that died too young. I decided I'd go ahead with the conversion to the Chrysler injection system and found out one major reason I went with the MegaSquirt the first time was because I'd have to drop the transmission to change the flex plate. Could the MegaSquirt be tuned to work? Absolutely, yes. But, that's a project for a different vehicle. Right now, I want this Jeep back on the road.
