สถานการณ์ในป่าตอง ปัจจุบันค่อนข้างเงียบเหงา ฉันจะขับมอเตอร์ไซค์ผ่านถนนพระบารมี เข้าสู่ถนนราษฎร์อุทิศ 200 ปี ถึงตลาดโอทอป ซึ่งแทบจะไม่มีพ่อค้า แม่ค้าเหลืออยู่อีกเลย เข้าถนนร่วมใจ โรงแรม 2 ข้างทางปิดกิจการชั่วคราว จนถึงถนนทวีวงศ์ (ถนนหน้าหาด) ยังมีนักท่องเที่ยวและคนในพื้นที่ป่าตองมาเดินริมชายหาดป่าตอง เพื่อดูพระอาทิตย์ตก เป็นเรื่องปกติของทุกวัน บริเวณหน้าหาดยังมีร้านอาหารและโรงแรมเปิดบริการเป็นบางส่วน
