Static Friction, Centripetal Force, Circular Motion, Car Rounding Curve & Rotor Ride Physics Problem

This physics video tutorial explains how to calculate the maximum speed of a car rounding a curve given the coefficient of static friction to prevent the car from skidding. In addition, it explains how to solve the rotor ride problem by calculating the coefficient of static friction necessary to keep people in place when the ground floor falls out. For this problem, the normal force provides the centripetal force. In the case of the car rounding the curve, the static frictional force provides the centripetal force.
