At this point, I'm sure everyone is more or less familiar with the CERB, or the Canada Emergency Response Benefit.

Some people committed fraudulent claims without even knowing it! Yikes!

Recently, news has come out about the vast number of fraudulent CERB applications.

With the Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB) right around the corner, it's important to know what the CRA considers fraudulent, so you don't end up applying fraudulently to the CRB application on October 12th.

In today's video, we take a close look at, and analyze, a CBC story about fraud in Canada's benefits. We'll hear from the prime minister, and representatives from the CRA.

Luckily, if your Canada Recovery Benefit application or Canada Emergency Response Benefit claim was fraudulent, but you did so without knowing you didn't apply, there will apparently be no repercussions, apart from having to pay back your CERB check or CRB check.

But, it's tough for the CRA to prove who committed fraud intentionally, and who just messed up. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out!

CSRB is for people who need to take time off to isolate due to COVID related symptoms

CCRB is for people who have a child or family member that need their care, and as a result, they are unable to work.
