Living Well After Brain Injury: The Importance of a Caregiver

Established in 2009, BIAA’s Brain Injury Advisory Council consists of a diverse group of brain injury survivors from across the country who have moved beyond the initial stages of recovery and are interested in supporting others in advocacy and awareness-building efforts. The group’s purpose is to represent the survivor perspective at BIAA, provide BIAA with feedback on policy issues, and advocate both collectively and individually on behalf of survivors in the United States.

Watch this video to hear from Greg Ayotte, Director of Consumer Services at the Brain Injury Association of America and Kelly Lang, BIAA Advisory Council Member. Kelly is a survivor of a brain injury as well as a caregiver to her daughter who sustained a traumatic brain injury in 2001. They talk about the role of the caregiver and the important role it is for recovery and beyond.
