Yazidis of Iraq are a small religious minority who have been persecuted through out the ages, more so right now. Their are facing an existential crisis and they need help. They are specifically asking for India's help. Should India help or not that's up to the politicians, but why should we the common public care about their cause? They seem to be an ancient branch of Hinduism, separated geopolitics and time. They may look different now but Indians and Yazidis are made from the same cloth and follow same religion.That should be reason enough.
