Growing onions from seeds (30 day update)

In this video, I am showing the growth of onions seedlings at 30 days old. I will be trimming the top of seedlings for stockier growth and better handling. I am also giving onions a first feed of liquid fertilizer.

The germination rate for these 2 year old seeds was about 70%. Out of the ones that germinated, I lost 50% to damping off. Luckily I started excess for the rainy day scenarios.

After the first feed i will be starting to harden off seedlings outside in the shade first and gradually moving them in sum more hours each day.

4 types of long day variety onions.

I live in gardening zone 6B with a growing season of 161 days from May 1 to Oct 10.
