Woodturning: Turning A Pedestal Bowl from Black Walnut - Fail?

I’ve been wanting to try a pedestal bowl for a while now and decided to give it a shot using a piece of black walnut I had cut thick and kiln dried probably 10 years ago. The walnut didn’t like being dried that thick and cracked pretty badly throughout the length of the board, so I was unable to use it for bandsaw boxes as I had intended. I’ve kept these pieces around and used a section for one of the first videos I made for YouTube (I had really lousy editing software in the beginning 😬), a lidded pot.

I had some misadventures with CA glue on this project and ultimately I’m not happy with the outcome. What do you think?
