🛡️ EN ISO 13857: Process Simulate - Calculating Safety Distance | Fence Spacing & Validation ⚙️📏

How far must a worker stand from a robotic hazard—by the book? In this video I apply EN ISO 13857 to automatically calculate and visualize the required safety distance (S) between the hazard and the protective fence/worker area.

You’ll see a typical OLP path, then my tool in Siemens Tecnomatix Process Simulate: set hazard height and fence height, generate 3D safety volumes, and use them for collision checks against robot and gripper.

We identify issues, correct paths, add guard panels, and re-validate until the motion is collision-free and standard-compliant.
