Virtual Commissioning with Process Simulate and Universal Robots PolyScope X 🎬 and NVIDIA OMNIVERSE
In this video, I demonstrate a direct integration between Siemens Process Simulate and Universal Robots PolyScope X using a custom-built Virtual Robot Controller (VRC).
The robot program is created natively in PolyScope X (running in a virtual machine), while Process Simulate is used in parallel as a true digital twin, providing:
• 3D cell and line simulation
• Collision detection
• Material flow and layout validation
• Virtual commissioning
Joint values, IO signals, and robot states are synchronized bidirectionally between PolyScope X and Process Simulate.
This is real robot code running inside a simulation environment — no simplified models, no mock controllers.
This setup is particularly relevant for:
✔️ Virtual commissioning (VIBN)
✔️ Digital twin validation
✔️ Early risk mitigation in automation projects
✔️ Offline programming and simulation with Universal Robots (CB5 and newer)
