New hope for Lynden stroke patient, UW implant may help rewire the brain

Learning an instrument for the first time is hard, but learning it a second time can be even harder! At least that’s Keith McKenzie’s experience.

For decades, McKenzie played the organ and piano at his church.

But in 2021, he had a debilitating stroke that led to the loss of function of his left arm. He could no longer play the piano, let alone fully extend his fingers.
