Trip from Vancouver B.C. to Seattle now a little shorter on Amtrak

Your travel time onboard the Amtrak Cascades from Canada into the U.S. just got a bit shorter. The change comes just as crowds are heading into Seattle for World Cup matches.

The time savings are thanks to streamlined customs inspections for passengers traveling into the United States.

The train station in Vancouver now has what is known as a ‘preclearance designation’. That means trains no longer need to stop in Blaine for U.S. Customs agents to do a second review of declaration cards, luggage, and carry-on items.
