How to make Makivnyk - Ukrainian Poppyseed Roll

What's Christmas without Makivyny? Watch as I attempt to make another popular Christmas staple.

Recipe is from Savella Stechishin's Tradtional Ukrainian Cookery:
Rich Basic Sweet Dough
2 tsp sugar
1/3 cup lukewarm water
2 packages dry granular yeast (traditional, not instead)
3/4 scalded milk, lukewarm
3/4 cup flour
1/2 butter
1/2 sugar
2 whole eggs
3 to 4 egg yolks
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
grated rind of 1 lemon
4.5 to 5 cups sifted flour

Poppyseed Filling:
Canned poppyseed from Polonia Bakery as we were not able to find fresh poppyseed to grind.
