The Future of IKEA? Desk Review

IKEA's vision of the future is to use only 100% renewable and recycled materials. As the Lillasen desk is made out of bamboo, it falls into that category. Bamboo is a great option as a renewable resource due to the fact that it grows very quickly. This factor also makes bamboo a great resource for sustainability. Bamboo is classified as a hardwood which makes the Lillasen desk really durable. In my opinion, I think this IKEA desk would be a great addition to your home if you don't have too much space as this desk is on the smaller side. Really, the only issues that some people may have with this desk is that the drawers don't contain any drawer sliders. Due to this factor, you can expect to hear friction noises whenever you open and close the drawers. IKEA added some felt pads underneath though, to try to dampen the sound and make the opening and closing process a bit more smooth. Also, as they don't contain any drawer sliders, you can expect them to wobble quite a bit. But after reviewing the Lillasen desk, I like how IKEA is headed in the right direction when it comes to using renewable materials in their furniture. Plus, I think this IKEA desk is not to bad either.
