I Captured a DEAD Star with my Backyard Telescope | Veil Nebula | Astrophotography
I captured the remains of a dead star that was 20 times more massive than our sun with my backyard telescope. The red and blue clouds are actually hydrogen and oxygen gasses that are still expanding at a velocity of 1.5 million kilometers per hour. The star exploded about 20 thousand years ago and the nebula that remains can be found in the constellation Cygnus. It is called the veil nebula and you can best photograph it with a telescope and a cooled astrophotography camera using narrowband filters.
