We explore the inspirational and remarkable story of Stanisława Leszczyńska, the Midwife of Auschwitz. Sent to Auschwitz after being captured and found to be part of the Polish Resistance, she would be sent to work looking after pregnant women. In unbelievably terrible conditions, she would manage to look after and save the lives of pregnant women who were imprisoned at Auschwitz. The horrors which Stanisława had to endure daily were unprecedented, and she even stood up to the, 'Angel of Death,' Dr Josef Mengele. Today in Poland she is considered a hero, and is being considered to be a saint by the Catholic Church.
