Millions of women around the world use birth control pills. But while the drugs come with warnings about the physical side effects, Canadian researcher say new data points to their effect on the brain – specifically, how women interpret fear.
According to a recent Canadian study, birth control pills may adversely affect the brain’s fear-regulating regions, potentially increasing the risk of anxiety and stress-related disorders.
