DJI Mavic Mini - week 1 Scotland
I filmed this during my first week with the mini, before lockdown and before the firmware update which gave us manual control over the camera. So this was all filmed in AUTO.
Backstory: I had a Mavic Pro about 3 years ago which I didn't use very often but I feel that I didnt really scratch the drone itch. So when the DJI Mavic Mini was released I wondered if it was time to get back on the horse.
2:09 don't miss this part if you can't watch it all!
2:44 can you guess what the yellow car is, tell me in the comments?
So, fast forward (or rewind) to March 2020 when I made my first trip of the year to Scotland. Cut short by the dreaded lockdown, I managed to get this footage from a couple of days while I refamiliarised myself with drone flying.
It is a brilliant drone, made even better now with the firmware update to 1.0.500 or similar. This update has since allowed full manual control over the video camera, and since this was filmed I have got myself some ND filters, so we can utilise the all important 180 rule.
This particular footage was shot in SW Scotland, in Dumfries and Galloway, with the hills of New Galloway featuring prominantly in the film.
Once the lockdown is lifted fully, my intention is to get back up to Scotland and explore this beautiful countryside with this drone and see how my shooting has improved over the months. There is only so many times you can fly round the local open spaces!
