Aging with Grace: Legal Concerns of Aging

Aging brings the reminder that we need to consider the legacies of our earthly possessions. If you do not make a plan, the state of Texas has one for you, which may not agree with your own wishes. In addition, there are other legal considerations of aging. It is important to understand these, as well as understand other documents that may be needed as we age.

Rabbi Stander is the Community Aging Specialist for HHCI CARES (Caregiving, Aging, Resilience, Ethics, and Spirituality). Prior to joining HHCI in August 2021, he served as a pulpit rabbi, chaplain in both hospital and hospice settings, and ombudsman for long-term care facilities in Harris County. He holds a Master’s in Hebrew Letters from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.
