Hidden Discoveries! Ripping Out Bus Interior & Mobility Ramp | Mercedes Vario Camper Conversion

Who'd have thought ripping out the interior of a minibus would be so much work, good fun though. Also pretty essential when it comes to getting this van converted.

We remove the metal ceiling panels that were welded into our Mercedes Vario 614D minibus, remove the side panels and old fibreglass to finally see the usable space. It was pretty exciting to see what we had to work with.

We also remove the old and battered wheelchair/mobility ramp to make room for underslung water and gas tanks. We wanted to do this to save some weight too.

We also setup our SGS air compressor and use the body saw for the first time. It’s just an awesome tool.

The plan; strip the bus down back to its ‘van’ chassis and build it back up from there. We plan to have a toilet, shower, kitchen and fixed beds for all three of us. We will also be installing new movable seats, solar, underslung gas and water and a diesel heater. Lots in plan - so any comments and help welcome.
