Measures against masturbation in 19th century America | UroChannel

November is all about semen retention and the no nut challenge with men giving up masturbation for a whole month. In many religions of the world, masturbation is regarded as a sin. But to understand the role of masturbation in modern times, it is important to take a look at history. Dr. med. dr. phil. Stefan Buntrock, urologist from Göttingen, outlines in this video on UroChannel how masturbation started off as a good/neutral thing and over the centuries turned into something commonly regarded as perverted, sinful and unhealthy. From the early 18th century, a campain against self-eroticism was launched. It's protagonists were John Marten and Samuel Auguste Tissot to name two of them. The 19th century saw a number of devices and "treatments" devoted to inhibit masturbation such as chastity belts and penis rings with spikes.
