This is a quick video showing how to go up an escalator. The simple way to go about it is to just go straight into it, lean in, and hang on. The bigger wheel is what will get "locked in" on a step, so you may go back a bit while the wheelchair adjusts as the steps come out. This is why it's important to hang on to the railing.
The best way to I found for getting on is to line up the front wheels to be centered on a step, and that should minimize the adjustments as you further enter the escalator. Then you hang tight for the rest of the way up, leaning forward. When getting off, make sure to pop a little wheelie to avoid that bump at the end of escalators. Definitely DON'T keep holding the moving railing!
I prefer using escalators rather than elevators because they are much faster and usually not tucked away in places like a mall, airports, or in countries with less accessibility.
The next video will be about going down escalators!
